Ryan Nini is an award-winning medical animator and biomedical researcher. Combining his research with his technical art skills, Ryan works with clients to create scientifically accurate and story-driven visuals that convey their message. Ryan’s Baccalaureate training at Duke University and graduate research at UTHealth GSBS in the biological sciences provide him with the foundational knowledge to research, understand, and synthesize a wide range of biomedical disciplines that can fit any client’s needs. This is exemplified in his published illustrations spanning fields from public health to molecular biology. In 2022, Ryan graduated from the Biomedical Visualization (BVIS) program at the University of Illinois, where he focused on interactive media and animation. His technical expertise in animation, 3D modeling, and scripting shines through his ability to independently develop an animation project from pre- to post-production.

While Ryan’s graduate studies have provided invaluable scientific and technical knowledge, he cultivated leadership skills through his executive roles in student organizations. As president of GSBS’s LGBT Student Alliance and BVIS’s Student Association of Medical Artists, Ryan has led teams of 4 – 6 students to develop programming that has serviced well over 100 students. Ryan’s leadership and organization abilities shine in team projects, where he identifies and supports the strengths of his teammates to achieve the best results. This can be seen through his teams’ victories, such as the people’s choice award for the 2020 Health Tech Jam and 1st place for the 2021 Vesalius Trust-a-thon. As a leader or fellow team member, Ryan brings to the table adept knowledge, adaptability, and enthusiasm for any project he is a part of.
